Ooops!

Ok, so I forgot to get on here and post last night after I weighed in. Not because it was bad news either lol I simply got busy. So, anyway, I did do my weigh in and so far I have lost a total of 15.4 lbs. This makes me very happy I have to say. So, I will TRY to keep my blog updated as far as my weight loss goes.

Doing Great!!

Ok, so I know it's been ages since I posted, but I was actually on the verge of just quitting. It turned out I just did not have the ability to start, and stay, on a "diet". Big shock there, huh? So, on April 12 I sucked it up and I joined Weight Watchers. Needless to say I lost over 5 pounds in the very first week. Ok, so I figured most of that was probably water weight because I soooo love salt. Sure enough, the next week, after beginning working out with walking and using weights, I gained back a pound. But again, I was not discouraged because I figured working out will make a person retain a bit of fluids at first. So, then I almost entirely cut out the salt and the next week I lost another 5 pounds and a few ounces. Then it was a couple more pounds. I had lost a total of 12 pounds. I had a few rough weeks with my son and didn't make it to my meetings. Then, when I returned, I had lost 3 pounds. Then I gained a pound. Obviously I expect to have my ups and downs, so I have not managed to get discouraged as of yet.

After spending a couple months with Weight Watchers I decided that since I had all the tools I needed, I could save the few bucks a week and do it at home. So, Friday I went out and got me a weight tracking scale and supplies I needed to do this at home. Well, I have kept up with my walking and points counting and today I hit, what for me, is a major goal. My treadmill, which I bought about 18 months ago, has programmed weight loss programs in it. I have NEVER been able to finish even workout 1 and still feel as though I had any energy left, so I haven't even TRIED to do it.....until today. Not only did I manage to go all the way through the workout just fine, but managed to walk an additional 15 minutes when I got done. This is just the latest in certain milestones that I have reached. The other day I actually managed to bend over and help my fiance build some stairs. He had me screw the pieces together. Bending over for any length of time has been very difficult for me for a long time, so this was great. Then, I was able to actually RUN on my treadmill. I can't remember the last time I ran for any amount of time.

I think the walking is really helping my back, and that is a great thing in itself. But on the whole I am losing weight (will do a weigh in tonight at the same time that I did them at Weight Watchers) and will post my total.
Just so everyone knows, when I joined Weight Watchers I was at 240.4 lbs. Tonight I will know what my total is so far, as I have not weighed in for the last 2 weeks. I have been working really hard and I am excited now.

For those of you who don't know much about Weight Watcher's, and don't want to give up the foods you love, you don't have to. With Weight Watcher's you just have to keep track of your daily points. You can enjoy the foods you love, but I would be willing to bet with ANYONE that if they joined Weight Watcher's and began to see results, they would end up giving up, or finding substitutions, for their favorites.

I will be back later tonight to post my weigh in results!!
